Product Description
The Algal Bloom Sensor is a non-contact instrument that monitors the concentration of chlorophyll-a in real time. Based on the principle of UV fluorescence, this sensor uses chlorophyll-a’s innate fluorescence to monitor the growth of overall blue-green algae and sends alerts when a threshold is reached.
Product Features
- Sensitivity: > 2 µg/L
- Power: < 2W
- Range: up to 2 m
- Warranty: 2 years
Technical Specification
FOR INDUSTRIAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL WATER MONITORING.
The Algae ROW uses optics specific to the excitation fluorescence of chlorophyll-a. The derived concentration of chlorophyll-a provides an indication of the occurrence of algal blooms.
Requiring only 2W (@12VDC) of continuous power, the Algae ROW is fully compatible with off-grid solar/battery set up and connects seamlessly to your 3rd party telemetry.
We built the ROW to be rugged and installed across the world’s environments. With an IP68 enclosure, you can expect year round monitoring without the maintenance.
With the sensors optical technology for non-contact monitoring, there is no marine biofouling or algae contaminating the sensor. This limits the need for regular cleaning.
With standard CE and EPA accreditation by DNV Presafe, you can rest assured that LDI as manufacturer and R&D company will continue to support our products for years to come.
WHY CHLOROPHYLL-A?
Chlorophyll-a concentration is the most commonly used parameter for measuring algal concentration or biomass, and assessing the occurrence of algal blooms with 24/7 continuous monitoring.
All photosynthetic organisms contain chlorophyll, with chlorophyll-a common to all algae. While a few µg/L is considered normal, concentrations beyond 10 μg/L are deemed algal blooms.
